Guest Guidelines

We are excited that you have decided to join a CouchConcert. At each CouchConcert, you will see an outstanding performance in an intimate setting. At the same time, you will be helping an artist earn a living wage and move their career forward.

The CouchConcert format is carefully designed to cultivate a consistently intimate experience for both artists and guests, deliberately avoiding the role of background music for parties. The establishment of an intimate listening room significantly enhances the overall experience for artists and attendees alike. The well-organized format also ensures that hosting an event is a straightforward and stress-free endeavor.

Key features of a CouchConcert event encompass:

  • Ensuring that all guests are comfortably seated around the artist.

  • Setting the tone at the beginning of the event by requesting guests to keep conversations to a minimum

  • Adhering to a structured schedule, with the performance beginning 30 minutes after the doors open and guests departing within 30 to 60 minutes post-performance.

  • Guests should arrive on time; we discourage interrupting the event for late arrivers.

  • Encourage guests to make donations and engage in post-event conversations with the artists.

We have compiled a short list of guidelines to ensure the event runs smoothly. Please get in touch with your host if you have any questions about your upcoming event.

  1. Our goal is to create an intimate concert experience. Please give the artist your undivided attention during the performance. Refrain from chatting with neighbors and keep your cell phone on silent. If you have to talk with someone or take a call, please find a spot away from the performance.

  2. We encourage you to clap and show your appreciation to the artist.

  3. You are here to enjoy the show but please also help artists by making a donation to the artists after the show and consider buying some of their merchandise. 100% of donations go directly to the artist.

  4. Take a few minutes before or after the show to meet the artist.

  5. Please arrive on time and leave on time.

  6. Your contact information will be provided to the host and artist. If you do not want your information shared, please update the settings in your CouchConcert account.

  7. The host is volunteering their home and time to create this opportunity for you. Please be respectful, sober, and do not disrupt the event in any way.

  8. Consider hosting an event of your own. Getting more people involved in hosting events is critical to helping keep live music alive. Hosting events takes little time, and we have guidelines to help you every step of the way. If you have any questions about hosting, don't hesitate to get in touch with us at info@couchconcerts.com
